2.) The number format explained technically and soberly!

Number formats are special conventions or patterns that are used to represent, display, or format numbers in a particular way. They are used to make numbers more readable and informative and to meet the needs of specific applications. Number formats are important in a variety of contexts and applications, including:

Spreadsheets: In programs such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, you can set number formats to do things like label currency amounts with the appropriate currency symbol, limit decimal places, or display numbers as percentages.

Programming: In software development, number formats can be used to control the representation of numbers in text fields or the output. This can help make numbers easier to understand for users or developers.

Finance: Finance uses special number formats to present financial data such as stock prices, interest rates and currency conversions in a standardized way.

Date and time formats: Similar to number formats, date and time formats are used to represent dates and times in a way that meets the requirements and conventions of a specific country or industry.

Examples of number formats include:

Decimal format: Used to display numbers with a specified number of decimal places.
Currency Format: Used to display monetary amounts using currency symbols and decimal numbers.
Percent format: To display numbers as percentages.
Exponential Format: Used to represent very large or very small numbers in scientific notation.
Fraction Format: Used to represent numbers as fractions.
Integer format: To display numbers without decimals.

Using the correct number format is important to avoid misunderstandings and ensure that the numbers are interpreted in the desired way.
