Difference between paralyzed and dead pixels?

Dead pixels are mostly black (sometimes white). Paralyzed pixels are usually bright in two or possibly all three primary colors!

1.) The difference between paralyzed and dead pixels!

Sub-pixels are fully illuminated. If the pixel in question is white, both are possible.

A dead pixel

is when the pixel is always off. It's easiest to spot a dead pixel against a white background. The pixel doesn't seem to be there. Dark, i.e. paralyzed pixels. A hot pixel is when the pixel is always on. It is easiest to see against a dark background. The pixel is bright white.

A stuck/paralyzed pixel

is usually red, green, blue or yellow, but can also be light black in color.

2.) Technically more detailed information about paralyzed and dead pixels!

Paralyzed pixels and dead pixels are both types of defects on a screen, especially liquid crystal displays (LCDs) or screens with similar technology. Here are the differences:

1. Paralyzed Pixels:

- Paralyzed pixels usually occur on LCD screens.

- They remain stuck in a solid state, showing a particular color, usually white or black, regardless of the image information fed to them.

- This may be due to faulty transistor driving which results in the pixel being unable to change color.

- Paralyzed pixels can sometimes be restored by “massage” or special pixel repair programs, but this is not always successful.

2. Dead Pixels:

- Dead pixels are also found on LCD screens.

- They appear as black dots on the screen and show no activity, regardless of the images or colors displayed.

- This may be due to a pixel transistor failure, causing the pixel to have no connection to the screen controller and therefore not light up.

- Broken pixels usually cannot be repaired and often require replacement of the entire screen or panel.

Overall, both dead pixels and dead pixels can affect image quality, and many manufacturers have guidelines for the number of these defective pixels that are acceptable before a screen is considered defective.

3.) What is worse, paralyzed or dead pixels?

It is difficult to say which type of pixel is worse, as both types can cause different problems and their impact largely depends on the number and distribution of defective pixels on the screen.

Paralyzed pixels can be annoying because they display a constant color that doesn't match the rest of the image. For example, if a paralyzed pixel is near a bright area, it may stand out because it is darker or brighter than the surrounding pixels.

Dead pixels are usually visible as black dots and can also affect image quality, especially if they appear in an area with bright colors or a white background.

Overall, both dead pixels and dead pixels can affect image quality. Their impact depends on your personal preferences and the type of screen you use. Some people find dead pixels less annoying because they at least display a constant color, while dead pixels are visible as black dots regardless of the content being displayed.
