How can I open all subfolders in Windows XP Explorer?


In Windows XP Explorer you can open all subfolders with the right shortcut key, is also for new Windows 11, 10, ... Desktop and other Server Operating Systems!



You can easily open/expand all subfolders in Windows XP Explorer
with the key combination:
[NUM]+star (*)

All subfolders in the selected folder are displayed. (1 level).
You simply press the [NUM]+asterisk (*) combination several times, and a further level of the
directory structure is then opened.

Danger!
A very complex directory tree will cause Explorer to crash or take forever.
The problem is the slow tree view, which usually becomes weak or very slow from 10,000.

The same keyboard shortcuts used in Explorer are also used by Q-Dir  .

Jumps to the end of the active window. (Last item in list view).

[HOME]
Jumps to the beginning of the active window. (First item in list view).

[NUM]+plus sign (+)
The contents of the selected folder are displayed (if available).

[NUM]+minus sign (-)
Collapses the selected folder.

[LEFT ARROW] Collapse
the current selection, but only if the current selection is expanded.
If not, the parent folder is highlighted.

[RIGHT ARROW] Expand
the current selection, but only if the current selection is collapsed.
If not, the first subfolder will be highlighted.
