Query and change TLS client protocol on Windows desktop?


The TLS client protocol can be queried and changed (configured) on all Windows desktop and server operating systems!



Everyone knows how easy it  is to query and change the ►► Windows Server TSL protocol , but on the client side, for example under Windows 11, 10, etc., it is a little different! TLS protocol stands for "Transport Layer Security". It is a widely used encryption protocol.

1. Start the Run dialog [Windows + R]
 
2. Simply enter the command:  inetcpl.cpl  and confirm with the [Enter] key 

3. In Internet Properties, go to the Advanced tab

4. Scroll down to the TLS 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 settings

( ... see figure 1, points 1 to 3 )  These settings are not only valid for Internet Explorer, even Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, .... adopt some of these settings, because they are valid across the whole system world, not just for Internet Explorer, TLS

settings in particular and others are highly branched out in the MS OS!

MS Windows 11 users can enable TLS v1.3 in the advanced section of the known Internet options. By default, TLS v1.3 is enabled system-wide.
