1.) Understand bootable USB drives!

Booting from removable media, including a USB drive, allows you to diagnose a computer that is having trouble booting from the hard drive.

The computer that will use this bootable USB drive must be able to boot from a USB drive. Most new computers since 2005 have been able to boot from a USB device, ergo to be started.

2.) Why a bootable USB drive!

A bootable USB drive, also called a boot USB or bootable USB stick, is a USB flash drive that has been configured to start an operating system or a bootable program when a computer boots from that USB drive becomes. This means that the USB drive is used as the boot media and not the computer's internal hard drive or other storage media. A bootable USB drive is extremely useful for various purposes, including:

Installing an operating system: You can use a bootable USB drive to install an operating system such as Windows, Linux, or macOS on a computer.

Repair and Recovery: A bootable USB drive can be used to repair corrupted operating systems, recover data, or perform other diagnostic and repair tasks.

Live Systems: Some Linux distributions offer bootable USB drives that provide a fully functional operating system without the need to install it on the internal hard drive. These are often referred to as “live systems”.

To create a bootable USB drive, you typically need an image of the operating system or program you want to install on it, as well as appropriate software to write the image to the USB drive. Depending on your specific use case and operating system, there are various tools and guides that can help you create a bootable USB drive.

The ability to boot an operating system from a USB drive allows users to create portable and flexible solutions for computer installation, repair and maintenance, making it a useful tool in IT and troubleshooting.
