2.) ... What happens when the entries are renamed?
3.) ... »Shutdown_Startup« from the autosave can be used!

Please always use ... the latest version of DesktopOK!

1.) The automatic saving of the desktop icons.

The Auto-Save saves up to 32 Last desktop icon positions or layouts. After that, the oldest entry will be deleted.

Tip: For the purpose of the overview of the auto-save entries, you can activate the option "Only if changes the layout"
(... see Image-1 Arrow-3) . And now it will only be saved if something has changed on the Windows Desktop Icon Layout.

If the option ✐ Save by Windows Shutdown is activated, a "Shutdown_Startup" entry will be at system shutdown created.
(... see Image-1 Arrow-2)

This will be used when the ✐ Restore by Windows Startup, to restore the desktop icon layout at System Start.
(Or the desktop icon positions). (... see Image-1 Arrow-4)

My question is not there in the FAQ
Asked questions on this answer:
  1. I've been using your DesktopOK since version 4 ... and it always served well. Now I've switched to version 7.11 and it still does its job - but not permanently. The PC (an Intel i7-4xxx under Win10/11 Pro). At EVERY start, the PC presents the desktop to me completely mixed up. With DesktopOK I can always restore order, but the next time I start it is exactly the same chaos !!!! In the long run this is really annoying. What's going wrong? Where the hell does Windows store the desktop that's served me when it starts? How can I get Windows to present the desktop as it was when it was shut down after a restart?
  2. That the icon layout is saved when Windows is closed and when it is restarted?
  3. Is activated again. In addition, a possibility to restore this last icon backup when shutting down, if necessary, during operation if I have shot the resolution, for whatever reason. What do I have to activate (tick) under Options / Storage Options and / or Autosave so that this works. Is there a short guide to this?
