4. In the editor, click on “File” and then on “Save as”. This will display the path of the INI file and you can also create a backup copy by saving it anywhere on your computer.

2.) Who needs a backup for keyboard shortcut text snippets?
Although some may find it unnecessary to make a backup copy of keyboard shortcut text snippets, it can be useful in several situations:
1. Data Loss:
When the quicktextpaste.ini file becomes corrupted or corrupted due to a system error, software update, or other unforeseen event is deleted, a backup can help restore the lost text snippets.
2. Migration to a new system:
If you change your computer or install QuickTextPaste on another device, you can use the quicktextpaste.ini file backup to transfer your saved text snippets to the new system without having to type them again.
3. Security:
A backup provides an additional layer of security in case your data is compromised by malware or other security threats.
4. Efficiency:
It can be time-saving to create a backup because you don't have to start over every time something happens to the saved text snippets.
Overall, creating a backup for text snippets using keyboard shortcuts can be a good precaution to avoid unexpected data loss and improve the efficiency of your workflows.
3.) Use old QuickTextPaste_x64.ini with the new program!
It appears that QuickTextPaste is looking for a specific file called “QuickTextPaste_x64.ini” to load the saved settings. If you have an older version of QuickTextPaste that uses a file called "QuickTextPaste_x64.ini" and you are trying to use it with a new version of the program, you can try the following steps:
1. Make sure the saved Settings file is actually called “QuickTextPaste_x64.ini”.
2. Rename the old file “QuickTextPaste_x64.ini” to “QuickTextPaste.ini”. This means that you need to change the file name from “QuickTextPaste_x64.ini” to “QuickTextPaste.ini”.
3. Place this renamed file in the same folder as the new version of QuickTextPaste.
If you rename the file this way, the new version of QuickTextPaste should be able to load the saved settings correctly. If the problem persists, the file formats between the old and new versions may be incompatible, or there may be other compatibility issues that require further investigation. In this case, you can contact QuickTextPaste Support for further assistance.
The new command %send_tab% is to send TAB commands to the foreground program, so text forms can be filled better and faster. Info: In short, a tabular command
I absolutely love QuickTextPaste! I put about 15 shortcuts in there and when I restarted by computer, they were gone. I moved some files around to make it start on startup, so maybe there is a .ini file somewhere? Or are they lost completely?
One question.. how do I find the quicktextpaste.ini file. It's not in the same directory as quicktextpaste.exe, and when I go options and click on quicktextpaste.ini - the file is not found and it wants to make one. Yet I have many clips of text saved in quicktextpaste.ini?
I want to edit the file manually and can't find it. In file explorer I seached for quicktext*.* on drive c: and it is not found. Any ideas? I am set to show hidden files. Sounds odd - but true.. it is a mystery !?
How can I copy the info that I have of QuickTextPaste on my laptop over to that on my desktop? How do I sync it?
