1.) Computer time explained quickly!

Computer time can be changed on any operating system, however most operating systems are designed to be synchronized with a time server over the internet, this was not previously the case. The computer also has no sense of time, if you have an offline computer and you change the time to 1980, that is the corresponding year on that computer. However, modern programs force the user to go online to activate the system and program, and are sometimes time-bound. Which in turn forces us to set the time correctly!

Time manipulation is not desired by governments, corporations, the judiciary , etc. They make it difficult to control the system!

2.) More details about computer time and various concepts!

“Computer time” can refer to different concepts depending on the context:

Execution Time: In the context of computer programming and software, “computer time” often refers to the time it takes a computer program or a specific operation within a program to execute or complete its tasks. This can be measured in seconds, milliseconds or even microseconds depending on the granularity required. Understanding and optimizing computer time is critical in software development to ensure efficient and responsive applications.

CPU Time: In the area of operating systems and system performance monitoring, “computer time” can also refer to CPU time. CPU time represents the actual time the central processing unit (CPU) spends executing a particular process or thread. Often measured in clock cycles or seconds, it is an important metric for understanding a computer system's computational workload and resource usage.

Wall clock time:This is a more general concept of time that includes all time intervals, including both the time a program spends actively executing (CPU time) and the time it spends responding to input/output operations, user interactions, or other external ones factors to wait. Wall clock time is what we typically refer to as “real time” and is measured in hours, minutes and seconds. It's the time you would see on a clock on your wall.

The specific meaning of “computer time” may vary depending on the context. Therefore, it is important to consider the context in which the term is used to determine its precise meaning.
