Should I use at feed scan TIF, JPG BMP or PNG for pages?

TIF sometimes appears as the standard for a feed scan, including JPG, BMP, PNG, ... etc., which should be used under MS Windows 11, 10, ... OS!

It is so that with older scanners and TIF there is an error message "memory full" and the like, for this reason I personally have a setting with JPG for the relevant scanners and this is also the fastest variant which is GOOD with poor WiFi, or slower transmission to make good progress!

Content:

1.) ... The TIF format is supported from version 6.88 for MS Windows OS!
2.) ... What is better in the quality of the scans, what should I pay attention to!
3.) ... Creating a new scan profile makes sense so that you don't always have to change!

1.) The TIF format is supported from version 6.88 for MS Windows 11, 10, ... OS!

The multi-page TIF scan, which is standard with some scanners, is now also recognized and supported by WinScan2PDF under all MS Windows OS!

1. Start WinScan2PDF for Windows as always

2. if you now do a feed scan in TIF format

3. it will also appear in Page_ (1), Page_ (2), ... etc.

(... see Image-1 Point 1 and 2)

PS:
So far did it work with BMP, JPG, ... also without any problems, now also with TIF multi-page scan

2.) What is better in the quality of the scans, what should I pay attention to!

With the scan you get a good result with JPG, but in terms of quality and space you should use more than 200 DPI when scanning!

What is better is also dependent on the scanner, you should simply do a few scans for text and image and possibly a test printout to see for yourself what makes the most sense!

With old scanners there can be problems with the TIF scan, I personally use JPG at 300 DPI and PDF quality 90%!

3.) Creating a new scan profile makes sense so that you don't always have to change!

1. Start WinScan2PDF as always

2. Go, for example, to edit WIA profile

3. Press the "Add" button

4. Create a new scan profile

5.  Don't forget to "save profile"

(... see Image-2 Point 1  to 5)

PS: In the profile you can also define TIF, PNG, ... and the profile can also be defined as the standard. It is very easy to create additional scan profiles with the MS WIA interface! Use the new scan profile for recurring scan tasks in order to complete different tasks faster on different scanners!
