What is an executable file?

An executable file is a file used to perform various functions or operations on a computer, these are: programs, applications, APP, ... !

Unlike a data file (document, images, ...), a so-called executable file cannot be modified, since these are usually compiled. On all PC - compatible computers, these mostly end with .BAT, .COM, .EXE and .BIN. To run a file on all Microsoft Windows operating systems, simply double-click the file .

Most of the files used by users are *.EXE and on MAC OS .DMG and .APP files!
