A SD memory card is a storage medium , the correct name is "Secure Digital Memory Card".
The SD memory cards were mainly developed for cameras (digital cameras) to store a larger number of recorded photos and to be able to replace them if necessary, or still be able to access the photos in case of a defect of the digital camera.
Meanwhile, the use of SD memory card is much more widespread and is used for example in MP3 players, such as the PDAs, cell phones (mobile phones), etc .. (not in iPhone, iPad)
It is still still a very expensive storage medium to secure the data , because currently about 1 euro for 1 GB must be spent.
Similarly, one should take into account that the SD memory card is not infinitely writableis. Due to the memory technology used (flash memory), the SD memory card is not infinitely often writable.
