Can I start Windows in 32 bit mode?

Starting Windows in 32 bit mode is possible with Windows x32 versions, but the x64 is a 64 bit system!

Starting Windows in 32-bit mode, which is installed in a 64-bit system, is completely ruled out, you have to install an x32 version of the corresponding Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7, ... or MS server.

If you still want to start Windows in 32-bit mode, you should make sure your computer supports 32-bit hardware and drivers. This usually only happens on older computers.

The ability to choose between 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows also depends on the version of Windows you have. Older versions of Windows like Windows 7 had 32-bit and 64-bit versions. For newer versions such as Windows 10 or Windows 11, both versions are combined into a single installation file and the version installed depends on your computer's hardware.

To check which version of Windows is installed on your computer, you can follow these steps:

Right-click the Windows icon in the taskbar and select “System” or “System Information”.
Look under “System Type” or “System Type” for information about the architecture of the operating system. Either “64-bit operating system” or “32-bit operating system” will be displayed here.

►►  Can I run Windows x64 on an x86 or x32 computer?

If you want to use Windows in 32-bit mode and your computer supports it, you will need to install a 32-bit version of Windows or perform a clean install. However, please note that support for 32-bit versions of Windows may be limited in the future as most software developers increasingly rely on 64-bit systems.
