What are favorites?


Favorites, or also known as bookmarks, are often used in programs, websites, browsers, explorers, file managers, etc.

But what exactly are favorites and why they are referred to as such is a legitimate question, these terms appear on various operating systems, Microsoft Windows, MAC-OS, Linux, Google's Android.

The word favorite naturally comes from the Latin "favere", which stands for "beneficiary".

Sometimes these are often abbreviated as fav , a favorite is an identifier that was often used in Microsoft Internet Explorer that a user can save their favorite websites or the URL (Internet address) as personal favorites. Similar to Firefox and Google Chrome’s bookmarks. To display the favorites in Internet Explorer, press the [Alt] key and then the [F] key in the browser window menu, the saved favorites appear.

Favorites can also be found in the APP stores, here the favorite applications are also stored in a kind of favorites list to find them faster. In the internet shops, the favorites also serve to collect your favorite products and / or product groups in one place. You can organize, delete, edit the favorites in the favorites lists and, if necessary, share them with friends via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media. 
 
You can also find personal favorites in your profile on social media on the website, which can be found under the Favorites tab.

As you can see, Microsoft's Internet Explorer does not only use favorites for pages!
