How do I disable Autoplay in Windows 12?

In Windows 12, you can disable the Autoplay feature by using PowerShell and enabling Autoplay in Windows 12 as follows:

1. Windows 12, Autoplay function with PowerShell:
2. Windows 12, Autoplay function in the settings:

1.) Windows 12, Autoplay function with PowerShell:

1. Open PowerShell as administrator:

- Press the Windows key  and type "PowerShell"  -

Right-click on "Windows PowerShell"  and select "Run as administrator" .

2. Run the command to disable Autoplay:

- Type the following command in the PowerShell window and press Enter :

Set-ItemProperty-Path "HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ AutoplayHandlers\AcceptMediaTypes" -Name "NoAutoplay" -Value 1

This command will change the registry entry responsible for the Autoplay settings.

3. Confirm that the command was executed successfully:

- You should not see any error messages. If you do not receive an error message, it means that the command was successful.

4. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

If you want to disable Autoplay only for certain media or devices, you can also adjust the specific registry entries. However, this is a bit more complex and requires more detailed knowledge of the Windows 12 registry.

2.) Windows 12, Autoplay function in the settings:

1. Open Settings:

Press the Windows key  and select the Settings gear icon  , or search for “Settings” in the Start menu.

2. Go to Devices:

Click the Devices section

3. Select Autoplay:

In the left menu bar, you'll find Autoplay . Click it to open Autoplay settings.

4. Disable Autoplay:

You'll find an option that says Autoplay for all media and devices . Toggle this switch to Off to disable Autoplay.

5. Options for specific media and devices:

If you want to configure specific media (like USB sticks or DVDs), you can also select individual settings for those, or set all to Do Nothing.

Following these steps should disable Autoplay on your Windows 12 system. If you're using a different version of Windows or have specific questions, let me know!
