Remote access refers to a connection, a remote connection, a way to grant or enable remote access!

The term remote!

REMOTE = remote control

comes from Technical English

Information about the remote functionality under Windows!

Remote desktop refers to the ability of a computer to remotely connect to another computer and control its desktop as if the user were in front of the remote computer. Remote Desktop is often accessed through port 3389 and uses software that is included with Windows or another third-party program!

A remote access / remote control can refer to the following:

A device (e.g. remote control) with which a user can control a second device at another location.

For example, the TV remote control allows a person to change the channel or volume, or to turn the TV on and off without having to get up and pressing the buttons on the front of the TV.

Before today's TV remote controls, there was a wired remote control connected to the television via cable, before that you had to get up to change the channel, or the volume, or to switch off the device!
