How to view images in Windows Explorer?

Microsoft Windows Explorer (also known as File Explorer in newer versions of Windows) offers a variety of viewing options, enabling you to customize how files and folders are displayed.

These options include different icon sizes, which can be particularly useful for viewing image files and photos. By displaying your image files as icons, you can quickly identify them without the need to open each file, making it easier to organize your pictures.

1.) Changing File Views in Windows Explorer

2.) Available File Views

Windows Explorer provides various view options. For pictures, you can choose from the following:

- Extra large icons: Best for high-resolution images or when you need a detailed overview.

- Large icons: A balanced option that works well for most needs.

- Medium icons: Suitable for smaller images or when you need to save screen space.

When you select one of these options, a small dot or highlight will appear next to the currently active view.

3.) Preview Pane: A Handy Feature

For an even better way to browse images, enable the Preview pane:
1. In the View menu, click Preview pane.
2. Once enabled, a larger preview of the selected picture will appear on the right side of the Explorer window.

This feature allows you to see a bigger version of your pictures without opening them in a separate program. It's particularly useful when quickly comparing images or deciding which files to keep or delete.
