Install old drivers on Windows 10, 11 and 12?


Many manufacturers do not support devices manufactured before August 2013 with the current Windows versions (10, 11, 12). However, it is possible to install older drivers (x64, x32) even under these Windows 12, 11, 10 versions.

To use a Windows 7 x64 driver for your hardware:



1.) Download drivers:



- Visit the Microsoft Update Catalog: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/

- Browse for the driver you want.

- Download the appropriate CAB file and save it to your hard drive.

2.) Extract CAB file:



- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the directory where the CAB file is stored.

- Create a new folder to extract the contents of the CAB file.

- Right-click on the CAB file and select "Extract All..." to extract the files to the new folder. Alternatively, you can use Command Prompt or PowerShell: 

expand -F: * "Path\to\cab\file.cab" "Path\to\destination\folder"

3.) Install drivers manually:



- Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start menu and select "Device Manager".

- Find the device you want to install the driver for and right-click it.

- Select "Update Driver".

- Select "Browse my computer for driver software".

- Navigate to the folder where you extracted the CAB file and click "Next".

- Follow the instructions to complete the driver installation.

4.) Check installation:



- After installation, the device should appear in Device Manager without any warning icons.
- To check the driver version, right-click the device, select Properties and go to the Driver tab.
