It is not easy to clean up the app folder under Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, but also not impossible!
If you have uninstalled the APPs from Win 8.1 / 8: .... Delete app-s (applications), or uninstall!
The Parts of the app data may stay on your hard drive for years, on the windows 10 or 8..1!
For this problem, you need a file manager that can be started in administrative mode and can enable the "Secure Privileges" (security settings)! For this case in Windows 8.1 and 8 is the File Manager Q-Dir ideal!
After download and install of Q-Dir please start Q-Dir in administrative mode!
See: ... Explorer as administrator in Win 8.1 and 8!
Then change in Q-Dir the security settings via the main menu, Extras, System! (... see Image-1 Arrow-1)
And open the app directory path C:\Program Files\WindowsApps (... see Image-2 Arrow-1)!
Now you can remove the app's from the hard drive! (... see Image-2 Arrow-2)
ATTENTION! Turn off the system rights (privileges), after processing the folder! It is not recommended to work with system privileges, because you can also delete items that should not be deleted. Or when creating new folders, other users do not have full access rights.
If you clean up the app folder on C:\, now lets talk some GIGABYTE on the hard disk are free :-)!
Everybody can clean up the app folder, to have more space on the system drive C:\ for better work on the Windows OS!
